Policies

Practice policies

Fees, the cancellation window, and billing for work outside appointments are listed on the home page. Below are the details behind them, plus our Notice of Privacy Practices.

Visits

New patient evaluation, children & adolescents

  • Two 45-minute sessions: one with parents, one with the child or adolescent
  • A 10–15 minute consultation with the school
  • A 10–15 minute consultation with the therapist

Follow-up visits

Follow-ups last 20 to 45 minutes, depending on what you need. When symptoms are stable and we aren't making changes, visits are about 20 minutes. When we're getting started or adjusting treatment, they run 30 to 45 minutes. Patients in weekly individual psychotherapy receive a reduced rate.

Reimbursement

Rise Psychiatry is out-of-network with all insurance companies. After each visit you'll receive a superbill to request out-of-network reimbursement. We've partnered with Reimbursify so you can submit claims easily from their app.

Cancellations

Appointments can be cancelled and rebooked through the patient portal.

Prescriptions & care coordination

If you'd like to use insurance for prescription medications, please get a copy of your plan's price list (formulary) so we can choose covered options.

Emergencies

I do not provide 24/7 emergency coverage. In an emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. You or the emergency room physician may call me from the emergency room to coordinate care.
